Young Artists Debut Concert – The Walden Trio

Andrew Park, cello
Daniel Dastoor, violin
Daniel Szefer, Piano

The Walden Piano Trio has been working together for over a year and has an impressive list of accomplishments.  The Trio was selected to compete in the Canadian Music Competition National Finals in June 2017.  They spent their summer at the Orford Music Festival where they worked extensively with the Gryphon Trio.  Other artists they have worked with include Ian Swenson, Angela Chang, Joe Johnson and members of the Brentano & Kronos String Quartets. The Walden Trio has been accepted to the quarterfinals of the 45th Fischoff Chamber Music Competition to be held May 11-13, 2018. This means the Trio will compete in South Bend, IN for the live round of this prestigious Competition. The Fischoff Competition is held annually and many past winners are Calgary Pro Musica artists, including the Ariel SQ, Dover Quartet, eight blackbird, Enso SQ, Imani Winds, Pacifica SQ and the Ying Quartet.  This puts the Walden Trio in fine company and we wish them all the best at the competition.
