About Diana Cohen, Jonathan Crow & Andrew Wan
Three of Canada’s most prominent concertmasters come together for an exciting program featuring works for solo and multiple violins. Diana Cohen leads a multi-faceted career as a concertmaster, chamber musician, soloist, and arts administrator. Appointed concertmaster of the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra in 2012, she previously served as concertmaster of the Richmond Symphony Orchestra and Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra while maintaining an active freelance career in New York City. Jonathan Crow has been Concertmaster of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra since 2011. A native of Prince George, BC, he joined the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal (OSM) in 1998. Between 2002 and 2006, Jonathan was the Concertmaster of the OSM; during this time, he was the youngest concertmaster of any major North American orchestra. In 2008, Andrew Wan was named concertmaster of the OSM and is also Assistant Professor of Violin at the Schulich School of Music of McGill University. He is in the midst of recording Beethoven’s complete Sonatas for Violin and Piano with pianist Charles Richard-Hamelin, and their first installment in 2018 garnered a Juno nomination.
